VOLUNTEER

Picture
Annually, we have a volunteer to teach English classes from February to November. A language or education degree is required; alternatively, ESL or ELL certification may be considered.  While it is not necessary to speak Spanish fluently, basic Spanish helps in building relationships with students and faculty.  Volunteers must respectfully manage classroom discipline while modeling and sharing the love of Jesus.  In addition to teaching, volunteers serve the ministry through extra-curricular responsibilities, group hosting, and community outreach.  If you are interested, please fill out and submit the form below.  Serving at IER is an opportunity to make a life-changing impact on the youth of Honduras.

What volunteers say about ier

Picture
"IER is a place of hope: hope of a great education…hope for impoverished families, and the hope of Christ that is transforming lives every day. It was this hope, this light, that drew me to intern at IER. Interning at IER is a beautiful and unique opportunity…the months I lived at IER were filled with endless moments of joy. My time was spent developing cross-cultural friendships, teaching alongside talented Honduran educators, sharing smiles with students, laughing with mission groups, trying new foods and learning from every moment.  I learned what true service looks like from people who have dedicated their lives to faithfully follow Jesus, more about my own unique talents and calling, about God’s never-failing provision and love for all His people, but especially for the poor, and how to trust God more than I ever had before. You’ll never know what God has in store for you unless you say “yes” to the opportunities He has placed before you. Go. Do. Serve. Say “yes” with your whole heart. You will not be disappointed."           ALLISON YAEGER

"Interning at IER changes how you see things--to live up in the mountains close to the people of Honduras. The students are eager to learn, bright, fun, and creative…It will change your perspective and open your eyes more and more to God’s Kingdom and His love for us.”         LAUREN DAVIES
